Valentine craft for boys

The boys love making crafts, if I don't have a craft planned for them every time they're here it gets ugly. But it's great because not only do I get to spend some one on one time with them, I also get to share something I love! So when I was searching for craft ideas for boys a few months ago I ran across All For The Boys, a really great blog with tons of boy related crafts. And the day I was searching for a valentine craft, she had just posted this adorable love bug!

The best part is, it's interactive. Most crafts we do just kind of sit around once they're done making it. The fun is had during the making but then what? This "bug" can be hung on door knobs and bed posts so it can climb up and down!

A mess

I'm trying to make my Valentine's Day card and my sentiment stamp has disappeared! I literally just set it out on my work station, finished up my last card, went to pick it up and it's gone! Did it stick to something I threw away, did it full off the table and my dog ran away with it?! AH! Has anyone else had this happen? I feel like when it comes to scrapbooking, I'm as much of a mess as my work station...

Better late than never

This year I opted not to spend weeks crafting handmade Christmas cards and went with everyone's favorite photo card. 

To be honest, I haven't been in much of a crafting mood...which I'm sure you could tell by my lack of posts. I've been making necklaces but no scrapbooking. Does anyone have any new techniques or ideas that I could try out to get back in the scrapbooking spirit?

Simple Mother's Day card

I came across the idea for this year's Mother's Day card online, as I usually do, at Stamp It With Jen.  I had just gotten this set of circle die cuts to use with my Cuttlebug and immediately decided I wanted circles on my card this year. I couldn't have found a more perfect design! Here it is!

Little sweetheart

Last weekend we had my boyfriend's boys (Sam and Ray), and on Saturday afternoon the youngest and my boyfriend took a nap. So I was trying to think of something fun that the older one could do, something for just the two of us. So we went down into the basement to get some plain paper to color on when he said, "Remember when you were gonna show me how to use your one machine?" Let me tell you, these kids never forget a thing! So then I remembered I had mentioned showing him my Cuttlebug. And in order to really show him how it worked I needed to run an embossing plate through it. Well one thing led to another and we decided to make cards for Mike and Ray. He had a blast and I got to share something I loved! Here are the adorable cards we made!

Cookin' up memories

Today I wanted to create a quick one page layout for Mike and his boys. I almost always make two page layouts so I really wanted to challenge myself to make a one page layout. 


I started off by making two cute and quick paper piecings from Little Scraps of Heaven. I used their Mama Mia Pizzeria collection and they came together very easily. Then once I got them on the page I knew I needed something else...so I used my brand new washi tape! It's the quickest product to use and added just enough to give the background some visual interest without being too busy. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Magical Moments

Last night I stumbled upon Little Scraps of Heaven. It's a website with some super cute paper piecings. OMG I wanted everything! But I settled on some sets that I could used immediately and couldn't wait to finish a layout using their stuff. So this morning I got up early to work on yet another Harry Potter layout. (That's 2 this week!) It took me almost 5 hours to complete but I think it's adorable. If you love cute paper piecing you should check this site out.

I can't wait to make more, I want to do a Star Wars layout, pizza making layout and The Wilds...can't wait to share them!
